SAGE Program: The High School Roadmap - Insights from GT Parents
The High School Roadmap: Insights from GT Parents
From acronyms to academics, get answers from parents who have been there.
The transition to high school brings new opportunities, new decisions, and a whole new vocabulary. What do these terms mean: Advanced, AP, Dual Credit, CBE, CTE, LOTE, GT, Top 20, Top 10%, Quartiles, PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc.? How do weighted GPA and class rank work? What should families know when choosing courses to prepare for college and beyond?
Join GC-SAGE for a conversation with experienced parents who have navigated high school with their own GT students. We will share insights, lessons learned, practical advice, and answer your questions about preparing for the years ahead.
Whether your student is finalizing their ninth-grade courses or you’re curious about what to expect down the road, this program is for you. While the discussion is geared toward current parents of eighth graders, it will also benefit families of all ages.
